A School success goes hand in hand with attendance and is very important here at JMRHS. Please note that all absences will be coded unexcused unless this form or appropriate documentation is submitted to the school. Absence notes must be submitted within two (2) school days of the student absence and/or return to school. Notes will NOT be accepted after TWO (2) school days of student return.

State law allows absences to be excused for the following reasons (please upload, email or send in appropriate documentation for each):

Illness or injury

Death in the immediate family

Medical or dental appointments

Court or administrative proceedings

Religious observance

Educational opportunity  (Request must be submitted prior to the absence and based on principal approval on the form. Form is found under Attendance Tab and reads Education Opportunity Form. Subject to Principal approval.) Educational Opportunity exceptions are typically only granted to students who will be absent due to travel directly related to academics.

All other absences are coded as unlawful. Absences for personal trips are not excused according to state guidelines. 

All absences will remain unexcused until requested proof is received.

HAND WRITTEN NOTES, ONLINE FORM OR EMAILS CAN ONLY BE COMPLETED BY PARENT/GUARDIAN ON FILE. Completed forms may be verified. Email address must be for Parent/Guardian and not the student.

Medical/Dental Appts excuses – documentation is required to code use Med/Dental excuse code. Notes can be uploaded using the online excuse form, turned in to attendance or an image of it can be emailed to attendance.
