Student Technology Responsible Use & Equipment Agreement | 2026-2027

Good afternoon, Bulldog families.

One of the benefits of being a student in Cabarrus County Schools is having access to a 1:1 technology program, which means every student is provided a device for instructional use. With that opportunity comes responsibility.

All JMRHS students have been assigned a Chromebook and charger for the 2026-2027 school year. If your student has not received a Chromebook and/or charger, please have them notify one of their teachers as soon as possible. The teacher can submit a technology ticket so we can address the issue.

We are asking parents/guardians to take a few minutes to review the Student Technology Responsible Use and Equipment Agreement with your student.

Student Technology Responsible Use and Equipment Agreement
The agreement outlines important expectations related to:

• Responsible and appropriate use of CCS technology
• Student privacy and digital citizenship
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) guidelines
• Protecting and caring for assigned equipment
• Reporting damage or problems with a device
• Financial responsibility for damage caused by neglect or misuse
• Returning the Chromebook and charger when required

The signature on the form serves as an acknowledgment that the student and parent/guardian have reviewed the expectations. The technology expectations themselves remain in effect regardless of whether the form has been completed. CCS policies and the Student Code of Conduct establish expectations for the appropriate use of school technology and apply to students throughout the school year.

A Few Important Equipment Reminders

• Students are responsible for their assigned Chromebook and charger.
  Students should not exchange devices or chargers with other students.
• Chromebooks and chargers must be returned at the end of the school year. Students may not keep their assigned equipment over the summer. 
  Students who withdraw from CCS or otherwise leave the district are also required to return their assigned equipment.
• Equipment that is not returned, or damage caused by neglect or misuse, may result in the applicable fee outlined in the Equipment Agreement.

We are excited to provide every JMRHS student with the technology needed to support learning. At the same time, it is important that students and families understand that this equipment is CCS property and that access to it comes with responsibility.
